Marketo Next-Gen UX (Marketo Sky)

OK, Marketo fans — the long-awaited update is here: Marketo Next-Gen UX, a.k.a. Marketo Sky. It's a beta version but worth exploring. If you haven't tried it, here's a quick overview.

What is Marketo Next-Gen UX?

I'm loving the new Marketo UX. It doesn't just have a brand-new interface but also great features with an optimized process, letting you work more efficiently, effectively and in a more governed way. Marketo started rolling out this beta to customers and continued releasing new features and updates frequently. The first phase released the new UX for Marketing Activities with exciting features, new icons and branding.

How to get access to "Next-Gen UX"?

Remember it's a beta with usability and functional issues; Marketo maintains a list of known issues and features in development. Documentation is limited and support isn't included in the existing SLA. If you want to explore, ask your admin to enable it under Admin → "Next-Gen UX". You can enable it for all roles or restrict access — recommended for limited folks during beta. Once enabled, a new tile appears on your My Marketo dashboard.

What can you access with the new UX?

  • Workspaces: it's now clear which workspace you're working in — a relief if you juggle multiple workspaces.
  • Marketing Activities: new filtering options; you can label assets and filter with new filter options.
  • Also available: Marketing Activities navigation tree and search, Folders, Default Programs, Engagement Programs, Smart Campaigns, Emails, Landing Pages, Forms, and Lists.
